During the 1910 census of Red Bush, Kentucky, James was reported as being 80 years of age and having been married twice for a total of 30 years. He was residng with his daughter Phoeba and his son in-law Loranzo Holbrook and family. At the age of 90 years James was still residing with with his son in-law Loranzo and daughter Phoeba and six children.
James died October 18, 1924 at Red Bush, Kentucky and was buried in the Holbrook family Cemetery, Elna, Johnson County, Kentucky.
James was born in 1829. He passed away in 1924.
