As of June 1, 1850 as reported on July 29, 1850, Martha J. Penington was living with her parents Charles & Diana Pennington in District 1 of Harlan County, Kentucky. She was reported to be 19 years of age and born Kentucky. Head of the family was her grandfather Micajah Penington who was still farming at 86 years of age.
