VISITING RELATIVES AND FRIENDS IN MONITEAU, MO (16 OCTOBER 1919)

Quite a delagation of the Pennington family from Carroll County for the past two years have been visiting relatives and friends in the northern part of this county and of this city, including Columbus Pennington and son James Pennington and wife, also Charley Pennington and wife, and Jeff Pennington and wife coming in an automobile. Columbus Pennington is one of the four brothers who left Linn Township about the close of the civil war, over 50 years ago and located in Carroll County - two other brothers John and King Pennington have passed away over all raising families in Carroll County - their father, Jefferson Pennington from Stokes County, North Carolina located in Linn Township in the 1830's first teaching school and Justice of the Peace many years - Jefferson Pennington was married twice and raised 19 children his first wife being a Miss Redford , the last wife he married in Illinois - many of the children have passed away. The son Columbus visiting here has reached 79 years.
