Biography

Mahala was born in 1808. She was the daughter of Henry Penstone and Elizabeth Hunter.

In 1841, Mahala was living in the Earle household in the registration district of Devizes, Wiltshire. ^[1]

On 23rd February 1846, Mahala married William Newton. The marriage was held in Lambeth, Surrey.^[2]

In 1851, Mahala and her husband were residing in Stanford in the Vale, Berkshire. The couple had several children and her husband's brother was also in the home. ^[3]

In 1861, Mahala was a widow. She was living with her widowed mother, a brother and two servants in Berkshire. ^[4]

In 1871, Mahala was a prep school sister residing in Stanmore, Berkshire. She was 62-years-old. ^[5]

Mahala passed away in 1890. ^[6]
