In 1836 Sovereign Tully Perdue, Sr. and Elizabeth Watson Perdue lived at Sandy Ridge in Lowndes County, Ala. They later purchased a plantation in Butler County near Bethel.
From 1812 Pension application Sov. T. Perdue:
S. T. Perdue was drafted at Milledgeville, Baldwin Co., Ga. ca Sept 15, 1814 ... honorably discharged on Mar 11, 1815, applying for pension (or bounty land) on Sept 6, 1851 in Butler Co., but resident of Lowndes Co., Ala.
Description of soldier at time of enlistment: Age 22; Occupation, farmer; birthplace, Maryland; color of hair, dark; height, 6 ft.; color of eyes, dark grey. Neither he nor his wife Elizabeth Watson previously married.
Will of Sovereign T. Tully is recorded in Lowndes Co., will Book C, 1861-69, page 70.
