He was a Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the VFW. Surviving: daughter, Betty Perdue of Ridgeview; son, Robert of Stanfield, N.C.; sisters, Mary Eastep of Ridgeview, Ella Gillispie of Foster, Carrie Dennis of Loudendale, Garnet Scarberry of South Charleston; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Larry Ross officiating.
