Time Line for Archibald Perkins 1 Jan to 16 Jun 1799 Archibald was born in either Vermont or Canada, this information comes from census records dating from 1830 to 1880 at the time of death and from the census records from his children. 1822 Archibald married Nancy Irish, the daughter of Zodack Irish and Thankful Coombs 27 May 1824 Their son William E. Perkins was born in Highgates, Franklin Co., Vermont, he married Lucretia Annah Gilson in Vermont. There was one Perkins family living in Highgate, Franklin Co., Vermont in the 1820 census, by 1830 there was no listing of a Perkins family living in Highgate, Franklin Co., Vermont. There were 7 or 8 Perkins families living in Franklin Co., Vermont in 1820 and 8 or 9 in 1830. Although we do not know the exact location of Lucy Jane Perkins birth in Vermont we do know that by 1830 Archibald and Nancy were not living in Franklin Co., Vermont as in 1828 their daughter Ellen Eliza Perkins was born in Addison Co., Vermont and in 1829 their daughter Clarinda Perkins was born in Chittenden Co., Vermont. Abt 1825 Their daughter Lucy Jane Perkins was born in Vermont 29 May 1828 Their daughter Ellen Eliza Perkins was born in Addison Co., Vermont 29 Aug 1829 Their daughter Clarinda Perkins was born in Chittenden Co. Vermont 1830 Archibald was found in the Burlington, Chittenden Co., Vermont census having one male child of age five and under ten, one female child of age five and under age ten, and having two female children under five years of age (This record doesn't show information about the property, so unknown if rented or owned. 1 male 5 and under 10 William E. 1 female 5 and under 10 Lucy Jane 2 females under 5 Ellen Eliza and Clarinda 11 Apr 1832 Their daughter Lucelia E. Perkins was born in Vermont, she married Benjamin D. Gilson in Wisconsin. He is the brother of Lucretia Annah Gilson wife of her brother William E. Perkins. Lucelia E. was added as the missing daughter through circumstantial evidence and that she possibly witnessed the sale of the old homestead in 1842, although she would have only been 13 years of age. Abt 1834 Their daughter Adelaide Perkins was born in Vermont 16 Mar 1836 Their son Harmon A. Perkins was born in Hinesburg, Chittenden Co., Vermont 15 Mar 1839 Their son Norman Andrew Perkins was born in Hinesburg, Chittenden Co., Vermont 1840 Archibald was found in the Hinesburgh, Chittenden Co., Vermont census having two male children under the age of five, having one male of the age of fifteen to twenty, having two female children under the age of five, having two female children of the age of five to ten and one female of the age of ten to fifteen (This record doesn't show information about property so it is unknown if the property is rented or owned) 2 males under 5 Harmon A. and Norman Andrew 1 male 15 to 20 William E. 2 females under 5 Lucelia E. and Adelaide 2 females 5 to 10 Clarinda and Ellen Eliza 1 female 10 to 15 Lucy Jane 1 Aug 1840 Their son Guy O Perkins was born in Hinesburg, Chittenden Co., Vermont 11 Aug 1844 Their son Albert James Perkins was born in Hinesburg (Charleston) Chittenden Co., Vermont 13 Apr 1846 Archibald and Nancy sold the old homestead to Mr. Alexander Ferguson between 13 Apr 1846 and 1850 Archibald and family moved to Oakfield, Fond Du Lac Co., Wisconsin 1850 Archiblad was found in Oakfield, Fond Du Lac Co., Wisconsin census with the following in the household (This record shows that the property value of land is $600 so it is assume that the land was owned *need to contact the land records office to see about a property deed*) 1. Nancy wife 2. Adelaide daughter 16 3. Harmon son 13 4. Norman son 11 5. Guy son 9 6. Albert son 7 1855 Archibald was found in the Farmington, Waupaca Co., Wisconsin state census or the Oakfield, Fond Du Lac Co., Wisconsin state census. 1860 Archibald was found in the Farmington, Waupaca Co., Wisconsin census with the following in the household (This record shows that the property value of land is $500 and personal property valued at $100, so it is assume that the land was owned *need to contact the land records office to see about a property deed*) 1. Nancy wife 2. Norman son 21 3. Guy son 18 4. Albert son 17 5. Lucius son 9 actually Lucius is a grandson 1865 Archibald was found in the 1870 Archibald was found in the Cooper township, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan census along with his wife Nancy residing in bed, they were living with his son Albert and his family (There was no property value listed for either Archibald or his son, there is no value of real property listed either so it could be assumed that the property was rented (Need to contact the land records office in Kalamazoo to see if there is any land records) . 1875 Archibald was found in the Union Township, Waupaca Co., Wisconsin, there is one female living with him at this time of census. Is this Nancy or is this one of his children or grandchildren. If it is Nancy then it is possible she died in Union, Waupaca Co., and not Michigan like others have stated. If this was Nancy then it would be that she died after the census in 1875 and prior to the move to Oregon, or did Nancy die on the route to Oregon. According to research a trip from Missouri to Oregon by covered wagon took about 6 to 8 weeks, so I would assume that it took a few weeks longer to travel by covered wagon from Wisconsin to Oregon. With that said they would have possibly left Wisconsin just after the winter in early spring, possibly around April. 1880 Union Co, Oregon Census take the 16th & 17th of Jun: Archibald was found in the Union Co., Oregon census living with his son Harmon, he was a widower, he died between 17 Jun 1880 and 31 Dec 1880 and is buried in Union Co., Oregon, if my calculations are correct that would put Archibald Perkins birth between 1 Jan to 16 Jun 1799.
