Note: Thomas was previously attached as the spouse of Sarah Wallis, but the marriage provided took place in Massachusetts, USA.
Biography
Thomas Perkins was baptised 4 February 1644 N. S. in Hillmorton.[1] His parents were Edward Perkins and Alice Harding.
Research Notes
A Thomas Perkins (of "Whittaker") married Elizabeth Douse (of Lilborne) on 25 November 1665 in Hillmorton.[2][3][4]. [The Warwickshire Whitacre villages are about 25 miles away, past Coventry. Unless there is a nearer Whitacre].
There is also a record for the burial of Elizabeth Perkins at Hillmorton in 1677[5]. If sources could be found for Thomas's marriage to Sarah, which may identify him as a widower, then this would help to confirm these records.Chapman-17127 12:39, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
Thomas was probably not the Thomas Pirkins who married Sarah Ward in Coventry as the baptisms of this couple overlap with the Hillmorton baptisms.
The following children were baptised to Thomas and Sarah in Hillmorton:
A Sarah Perkins was buried 21 Jan 1692 N. S. in Hillmorton.[10]
A Thomas Perkins of Hillmorton died intestate in 1695, proved by Ann Perkins of Hillmorton, widow; George Sawbridge, farmer of Hillmorton; and [Wm] Hughes of Hardwick, farmer.[11] A local marriage between a Thomas Perkins and Ann not currently found, but this is either another (different) local Thomas Perkins or another marriage.
Thomas was previously recorded with the death year of 1719, but I can't find a burial in Hillmorton, so have removed the date.
Thomas's son was previously had a son John Perkins attached, so please reattach if evidence found that this is his son.
