Jared Perkins was born on 28 Jan 1766 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of Timothy Perkins and Miriam Sperry. He married Phebe Russell about about 1792 in Grayson County, Virginia. They lived where the Volney Post Office now stands in Gr ayson County, Virginia. He passed away on 30 Jan 1851 in Grayson County, Virginia and is buried there in Little Wilson Church Cemetery..
