Eliza was born on 5 September 1858 in Yeovil, Somerset, England. She was the daughter of Henry Perkins and Elizabeth Quick.^[1]

When Eliza was 21 she married on 2 May 1880 in Parish Church, County of Glamorganshire.^[2][3]
