Biography

Sarah Perkins was born on March 7, 1657,in Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts [1]. she died 7 April 1745, Topsfield, Essex County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Rev. William Perkins (1607-1682) and Elizabeth Wooten (1610-1690). She married John Bradstreet in 1679 Roxbury, MA.

Notes on Sarah's Will

Sarah's will was written in 1740, and named three children who were still living, including her son Simon (in whose home she resided), plus Sarah Porter and Dorothy Clarke. Her firstborn son Samuel and first daughter Mercy had died before 1740 and are not mentioned.

Mercy's daughter Margaret Hazen (Hazen-96) is the only grandchild named in Sarah's will. Margaret was eight years old when her mother Mercy died, and she moved back to Topsfield to live with her maternal grandparents John and Sarah Bradstreet at age 8, after her mother Mercy died. Margaret went by both her last name of Hazen and her grandparent's last name of Bradstreet prior to her marriage.

Rick just added Margaret again but that is incorrect. Margaret Bradstreet was Mercy Bradstreet Hazen's daughter and was 8 when Mercy passed, to be raised by Sarah and John Bradstreet, and Margaret Hazen went by both names.

Thanks I added her as a daughter. I will note your comment for future reference. Thanks

According to Sarah's will written in 1740, her children included Sarah Porter and Dorothy Clarke, in addition to Samuel. Mercy and Simon predeceased her, but Mercy's daughter Margaret is also named in the will.
