Biography

Abraham was born in 1745. He is the son of Abraham Perkins and Elizabeth Ely. [1]

Elizabeth Ely (1961), b. at Lyme, Conn., dau. of Samuel Ely and Hannah Marsh, m. 17 April, 1777, her third cousin, of the Ely blood, Abraham Perkins, b. 7 Aug., 1745, at Lyme, third son of Abraham Perkins and Elizabeth Ely.

Abraham Perkins was a farmer and they settled at North Lyme, where she d. 2 May, 1791. He then m., 10 April, 1798, Anne Fanning of Norwich, who d. 2 May, 1823, at Lyme, s. p., and where he d. 13 April, 1824. His children with Elizabeth Ely were :

5783. Abraham, b. 24 July, 1782, at Lyme. He m. 26 July, 181 1, Mrs. Hannah (Baker) Chase, dau. of Capt. Seth Baker, of Barnstable, Mass., and widow of Capt. Chase. They settled at Lyme, where she died. (They had one child: 1. Eliza Anne, who m. William H. Johnson, of Lyme, and was living in Waukesha Co., Wis., in 1859, a widow. ) He then m. 3 March, 1814, the widow, Mary (Baker) Ely, a sister of his first wife. In 183s they removed to Barnstable Co., where she soon after died. He had by her six children, born at Lyme. (2. Seth Baker, b. 14 Dec, 1814, d. in childhood. 3. Abraham Ely, b. 16 Dec, i8r6, m. Hannah Hadley, and was living at Mukwonago, Wis., in 1859. 4. Hannah Baker, b. 13 Oct., 1818, m. her second cousin, Samuel Pierce Anderson, b. 1816, son of Thomas Anderson and Rebecca Allis of Lyme. 5. Mary, b. 23 Feb., 1821, m. Dr. Bradford L. Crocker of Barnstable Co., Mass., and was living in Boston in 1859. 6. Sophia Ely, b. 18 Aug., 1824, m. and living in Wisconsin in 1859. 7. Francis William, b. 18 April, 1828, d. in childhood. ) He then m. for his third wife Charlotte Ely, dau. of Eleazer Ely and Dorcas Brockway, and granddaughter of CuUick Ely and Sarah Foote of Lyme. She d. in 1845 in Barnstable Co., where he d. Feb., 1855. He had by her two children: 8. Elizabeth, who d. in childhood. 9. Augusta. [2]
