Research Notes

1. I've not found a birth certificate in Rains County.

2. Proper Last Name at first Census - Watkins From: 1910 Census - shows W J Watkins / Margret, daughter(S) Jennie (22), and Ellen (3) W J Watkins, age 70, 2nd marriage of 24 yrs, born AL, Margret, wife, 42, 1st marriage, 2 living children of 4, born LA,

3. Death Certificate shows Bill Watkins as father, Jennie as mother.

4. In the 1920 Rains County Census - Series: T625, Roll: 1840, Page: 204 Next farm over from (William J. Watkins, 80 / Margaret, 52) Dewitt Perkins, 30, Jennie, wife, 32, Elmer, son, 3.

Ellen (age 13) now listed as Perkins and daughter (Dewitt and Jennie)

5. Census 1920, Dewitt Perkins - Shows Jenny's birthplace, Texas.

6. Census 1930, Navarro County - Ellen M, wife, age 24, was 18 when she married, born in TX, [father was from Alabama and mother LA]

Pretty much confirms Father: William J. Watkins, Mother: (not Margret, but...) Jennie.

Hello Mike, the mother is the same as the sibling. If you remove Margaret Jane (Watkins) Perkins as sibling, this profile will be correct.

Thank you
