Biography

Ida (Perkins) Baker lived in Appalachia, in New York.

Ida was born about 1852. She was the daughter of Ketchell Perkins and Almina Rolph.

In 1855, she was living with her parents and siblings in Ellery, Chautauqua county, New York.[1] In 1860 and 1865, she was with her family in Chautauqua, Chautauqua, New York.[2][3]

She married Robert Weir before 1874. Robert was the brother of Sarah Elizabeth Weir, the wife of Ida's brother Alfred. Ida and Robert had one son, Robert Ralph Weir, who was born a few months after her husband Robert passed away.

In 1875, she was working in Hanover, Chautauqua, New York as a servant in the household of Mortimer W. Anderson. Son Ralph was living with her.[4] In 1880, she and Ralph were living with the family of Walter Strunk in Ellery, Chautauqua, New York; she was a servant in their household.

Her second husband was Stephen R. Baker. They were listed on the 1892 Chautauqua, E. D. 04 census.[5] They were divorced by 1897 when Stephen married again to a Hattie Baker in Lorain county, Ohio.[6] Stephen died in 1916 in Lorain county, Ohio.[7]

Ida and son Ralph were on the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 census in Chautauqua, Chautauqua, New York.[8][9][10][11]

She passed away in 1938 and was buried in Magnolia cemetery in Magnolia, Chautauqua, New York.[12]
