Charles Perkins was a Virginia colonist.

Charles Ellis Perkins was born on 06 Mar 1742 in Goochland County, Virginia. He was the son of Nicholas Perkins and Bethania Harding.[1] [2][3]

On 11 Aug 1760, he married Mary Tate.[4][2] They made their home in Guilford County, North Carolina,[1] and had the following children:[1]

  1. Ella (1763-1831), m. Stephen Lyon
  2. Anna (1765-1816), m. James Walker
  3. Nicholas Tate (1767-1843), m. Ann Perkins
  4. Bethenia Harden (1770-1812), m. James Sneed
  5. Maacah (1772-1852), m. James Marlow
  6. Mary (1774-1857), m. _____ King
  7. Elizabeth, b. 1776, m. Israel Robinson
  8. Charles (1778-1813), m. Mrs. Bethenia (Bostick) Hampton

No doubt, Charles served in the military and participated in the Revolutionary War. He is likely the "Charles Perkins" that we see on the list of Virginia Militia under Colonel Geo. Washington, 1761.[5]

He died about 1780 in Guilford County, North Carolina.[1]
