Martin Perkins, a son of John Perkins Sr. and Rachel Ferguson Martin, was born on 10 Mar 1767 in Goochland County, Virginia.[1][2] He was christened on 19 Jul 1767 in St. James Northam Parish, Goochland, Virginia.[3]
On 21 Aug 1787, he married Dicey Sawyer[4][5] in Caswell County, North Carolina.[1] They made their home in Caswell County and had perhap six children (according to the 1810 census).[6] The only child found named in the records is:
Sarah Salley (1794-1860)
The 1790 U.S Census lists Martin as a head of household in Caswell County.[7] The 1810 census[6] and 1820 census[8] show that he continued to live in Caswell County. No 1830 census record is found.
There being no further records found for Martin Perkins, we assume that he died before 1830, in Caswell County, North Carolina. We do not know the location of his grave. [1]
