Biography

William Brewster married, as his second wife, to Prudence ______ shortly after the birth of his first son (c 1567). It has been postulated that her maiden name may have been Perkins or she may have been a widow of that name, but not with any confidence.^[1] She has also been mistakenly called Prudence Peck but no evidence for that LNAB has been found. Peck is likely a conflation with her daughter, Prudence (Brewster) Peck.

William and Prudence had three children:^[1]

• James, born about 1568[?], died 1613;^[1] possibly married Mary Welbeck with whom he had four daughters.^[2]
• Prudence, married Robert Pecke and had children;^[1]
• John.^[1]

Prudence survived her husband, who died in 1590.^[1]
