Biography
John Perry was born about 1755 in Ireland. On May 23, 1778 in Greenbrier County, Virginia, United States, he married Elizabeth McClung. Their children were: Mary Ann Perry Hinchman (1775-1832), John Perry III (1778-1840), Joseph Franklin Perry (1783-1869), Henry Perry (1786-1855), Florence Perry Canterbury (abt 1792-1870), and James G. Perry (1793- after 1850). Following the death of Elizabeth, John Perry married Jane Nelson on May 23, 1798 at Greenbrier, Virginia. He died about 1814 in Monroe County, Virginia. There are three households headed by a John Perry in the 1810 Monroe County Census.
