There are at least TWO contemporary [John Perrys]. Did one [marry] Elizabeth Macland, the mother of John Perry of Bertie? [The other John at the same time was married to Elizabeth Young and was the younger son of Phillip. ]
[1]
John Perry I, was born about 1650, in London, England, (youngest of the brothers). His wife, Mary, was born about 1675. They were married about 1696, in Barbados. It probably is not his only marriage. Another Source says that he married Elizabeth Young about 1720, in Perquimans County, North Carolina, daughter of John Young. John I, died 16 June 1724, in Chowan County, North Carolina; Mary died in 1735, in Essex County, Virginia.
All of the children were born in Perquimans County, North Carolina.
Children:
Jacob Perry Sr., born about 1694/6
Israel Perry, born about 1697, married about 1728, to Priscilla ____; 13 children
Phillip Perry, born about 1702; married about 1724, in Perquimans County, to Judith Hunter; 8 children*
Benjamin Perry Sr., born about 1705; died 11 March 1788, Perquimans County; married about 1725, to Susan Walton; at least 3 children
Joseph Perry, born about 1706, died after 1759; spouse unknown; 1 child

Phillip was married first to Elizabeth Jean/Jane Hunter, Judith's cousin. Their seven sons are not mentioned in his will.
