Biography
In the Visitation of 1564 his name is given as William Perye[1] where he is said to have married Emma Hele, daughter and heiress of Thomas Hele of Hele, son of Nicholas Hele and Isabella Walter, daughter and heir of William Walter, son of Simon Walter of Walter.
There are some inaccuracies regarding this statement that require observation.
The source of the material is Risdon, Surrey of Devon[2] where he discusses the family of Waters or Atwater that held the estates of West Waters in the Parish of Membury. Thus the name was not Walter but Water or Atwater.
In that source his name is provided as Christopher, not William. It is Christopher that is found in most other sources relating to this property. It is not clear where "William" is derived.
His dates are not included in that source. The current profile carries that he was born about 1416 and thought to have died about 1497. There is no source yet found for these dates.
The family of Hele did not hold the property of Hele (that is found in Bradninch in Devon) and Risdon makes it clear that they (the family of Hele) were of a junior line of Hele in Bradninch.
Risdon does not include a date for any transaction relating to Christopher Perry other than to state that Emma Hele married Christopher Perry during the reign of Henry VI. He reigned from 1422 until 1461. It is not clear where the date of marriage, of 1450, is derived.
However it is from this union that the family of Perry come into possession of the West Water estates in Membury Parish.
Thus, given the inaccuracies in the Visitations, please take care when making genealogical assertions based on that source.
Armorial
The armorial for the line of Perry of West Waters is given as quarterly gules and or, on a bend argent three lions passant sable. These are depicted on this page.

Does not say " Isabella Walter, daughter and heir of William Walter, son of Simon Walter of Walter." Says the name Water not Walter.
Also, do you think the name William can be taken away from Christopher, so he is just Christopher Perry. Since in the biography it says:
2. In that source his name is provided as Christopher, not William. It is Christopher that is found in most other sources relating to this property. It is not clear where "William" is derived.
3. this WikiTree profile has used an 1811 Risdon Visitations. A revised 1895 Visitations has been used for a long time.
See the link provided for the Visitations of Devon. I am for one grateful for the 'Visitations' due to the time period, sources are scarce and at least it is a starting point.
'The Visitation of the county of Devon, 1531, 1564, and 1620', page 591, held at the Yale University Library, shows the Perry pedigree. See also pages 461 to 467 inclusive for the Hele pedigree.
