Nathaniel Perry was apparently a child of Richard Perry of Fairfield and his first wife who's name is not known. Jacobus in "Families of Old Fairfield"[1] states it is likely that Richard's first wife was a daughter of Jehu Burr, as Richard (in his will) made Jehu & John Burr guardians of his children. Nathaniel is the only child known by name of this first marriage and was presumably born before 1656 as Richard is believed to have married Grace Unknown, widow of John Nichols about 1656 per Torrey (literally "by 4 Jun 1659, ca 1656")[2] Apparently some unsourced internet sites may list Nathaniel's mother as Deborah Burr.
He married Hester Lyon in New England in 1675 (12 April 1678). They had two children, Joseph, a millwright (1677-1752) and Mary.
He was a clothier.
His will is dated 12 April 1678,[3] and he is living on Barlow's Plain in Fairfield. He died in 1681/2 not so long after the birth of his daughter.
...I give into my daughter Hester Perry 4 pounds fully for her to dispose and I give unto my son-lin-law Nathaniel Perry is son Joseph Perry my grandson 3 pounds, and unto my son-in-law Nathaniel Perry I give 3 pounds in carting and plowing as he has ocation. I give unto my wife Margaret Lyon whom I hereby make my executrix, of this my last will, I say I give her 3 score pounds out of my estate and the use of the house I now live in and the barn and the homelot....13 April 1678.

Nathaniel's father is often confused with another Richard Perry. His mother is documented as a Burr and some records list her a Deborah.
I am a direct descendent of this Nathaniel Perry which can be demonstrated by a continuous DNA match from myself to Nathaniel and others who are also continuous matches to his son Joseph, grandson Samuel, ggrandson Ichabod, and gggrandson Samuel. DNA records exist that demonstrate these others are relatives to two of Samuel's children. Susan Fitzmaurice

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nathaniel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nathaniel:
No, and he is actually set up wrong from what I see. Father Richard of Fairfield was first married to an unknown Burr daughter of Jehu Sr (Jacobus points out that RIchard's will made Jehu & John Burr guardian of his children in his (Richard's) will). About 1656 Richard married Grace (Unknown) Nichols, so Nathanie's birth date may be about correct but his mother is apparently not. No source that I can find for his mother's first name and as Jacobus admits, a surname of Burr is likely but not proven
Richard Perry II will was proved 1649 and his buried in Fairfield Connecticut. He was one of the original patent owners of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was born about 1601/1603 the son of Richard Perry I of London b.1580. He was from a prominent and wealthy family they were involved in the Tobacco trade in Virginia Colony. His first wife is unknown he married second Mary the daughter of Richard Malbon a relative of Theophilus Easton also a patent holder of the Massachusetts Bay Company... his wife Mary married second Peter Meacocke and on his will is mention Richards children, Sarah, Mary, Isabell and Hummie Perrie.... Sarah Perry married Thomas Pettit II the son of Thomas Pettit & Christian the daughter of Thomas Johnson a nephew of Rev Isaac Johnson also a patent owner of Massachusetts Bay Colony
Nathaniel appears to be the son of Richard's first wife, name unknown, which would make him the stepbrother of the Nichols children. Marriage date for Grace and Richard was 1655. And see Jacobus, Donald Lines, MA (compiler, editor.) History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield
