Biography

Classed as unfit for service in the First World War (reason unknown, although his eyesight was always very poor), he was engaged in Special War Service from 1915 on. He may have learnt engineering skills during this period which led on to his employment after the war. He and Tille ran a shop in Shepparton for a very short while in the mid twenties but they soon returned to Acton and he took up a post as a service engineer for Hoovers. Died of heart disease in 1953, a disease which took most of his siblings.

He was a chorister at either St. Mary's or St. Dunstan's church in Acton. Several members of this family were accomplished singers.

Frank died before I was born and I don't remember hearing all that much about him as a person. The only comment I can recall is from Bill Amos who married his sister. He described him as 'a gentleman'.

Frank was my grandfather.
