Francis was born about 1608, probably in England. He made a deposition on October 27, 1653 that he was about 45 years old.
He migrated in 1631, residing first at Salem then about 1652 moving to Lynn. He was a carpenter and wheelwright. Salem had a division of land recorded in 1636; Perry had received 20 acres in the non-freeman part of the list; additionally it is noted that he had one acre for his household of six people. At Lynn he was granted an acre on August 21, 1648 and 30 acres of upland.
Francis married _____ _____ about 1635 who was the mother of the two oldest sons.
He married Jane (Cash) Verin, the widow of Robert Verin by 1638. Jane became a member of the church at Salem on June 13, 1641. She died at Barbados sometime between the date and probate of her will; which would be between December 3, 1659 and December 17, 1659.
His neighbors in Essex sued Francis Perry frequently; primarily for payment of his debts. It seems he did not have a considerate nature for he continuously put his livestock where it didn't belong.
Perry sued the agents for the ironworks facility for short-fall in their payment to him, for work he and his team had done.
Mr. John Giffard sued Francis Perry on June 27, 1654, for debts on June 27, 1654. Perry counter-sued on June 29, 1654, for slander as they called him "a base rogue." John Giffard and John Gerviss were fined for "striking Francis Perry in his own home." Jane struck Mr. Gervis several times but when she was brought to court she was only verbally rebuked, as they found she was defending her husband.
He and his family went to Barbados in about 1655, where he and his wife died in 1659.
Francis' will, dated November 5, 1659, and proved November 11, 1659 made his wife and all his sons executors. His sons left the executorship to his wife.
Jane's will, dated December 3, 1659, and proved December 17, 1659, named her stepsons, Jonathan and John as executors. She bequeathed to her sons David, Samuel, Elisha; as well as friends.
