"Bert" Perry and Gretchen Hope (Day) Perry) and Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Perry ( Elijah Perry and Ida (Steele) Perry) of Kokomo were entertained at dinner Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Day ( John C. Day and Emma Jane (Gaunt) Day)." [6]

February 17, 1931, Kokomo, Indiana: Mrs. Elijah Perry Ill: "Mrs. Elijah Perry (Ida (Steele) Perry), mother of Bert B. Perry (Bertram B. "Bert" Perry), is critically ill at her home, 309 East Walnut street. She has been in ill health for a number of years and her condition has now reached a critical stage. Mrs. Perry's home has been at Windfall for many years but she moved to Kokomo to spend the winter. Mr. Perry ( Elijah Perry) died a year ago." [7]

February 20, 1931, Kokomo, Indiana: IDA ELIZABETH PERRY -- DEATH COMES TO WINDFALL WOMAN IN HER KOKOMO APARTMENT: "Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Perry (Ida (Steele) Perry) of Windfall, 69, widow of Elijah Perry ( Elijah Perry) whose death occurred just a year ago, died shortly after midnight at her apartments at 309 East Walnut street in Kokomo. While she had been ill for a number of years and her condition had been serious for several weeks, she was only bed-fast about a week. Death was due to a malignant growth. The body was removed, from Kokomo to the home in Windfall, where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Burial will be made in Brookside cemetery. Mrs. Perry is survived by two children, a son and daughter, B. B. Perry (Bertram B. "Bert" Perry) of Kokomo and Mrs. Bessie Legg, wife of A. W. Legg of Windfall. There survive also five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Mrs. William Stych of Kokomo and two brothers, Hugh Steele of Anderson and Edward Steele of Indianapolis. The deceased, who was the daughter of Hugh and Elizabeth Steele ( Hugh Nathaniel Steele and Elizabeth (Duke) Steele), was born in West Middleton, March 31, 1861. She was married to Elijah Perry March 21, 1877. She was an active member of the Windfall Methodist Church and of the Order of Eastern Star of Windfall." [8]

February 26, 1931, Kokomo, Indiana: "Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Perry (Ida (Steele) Perry) were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home, in charge of Rev. Polly Couch Bowman, and was very largely attended; and the many beautiful floral offerings paid silent tribute to this splendid woman. Among those present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Callie Duke, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schorn, Mrs. Susie Schorn, Floyd Schorn, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stelle, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stelle and Mrs. Evelyn Stelle of Indianapolis, Mrs. Alice Duke and daughter Alice of Kokomo, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Rice of Tipton, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Steele, Mr. and Mrs. H. Stout and James Steele of Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. William Stych, Ralph Stych and Miss Ruth Stych of Kokomo, Mrs. Ada Houston of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Perry (Bertram B. "Bert" Perry and Gretchen Hope (Day) Perry) and Elijah Perry (Elijah Day Perry) of Kokomo." [9]

February 27, 1931, Kokomo, Indiana: Ida Perry Will Probated: "The will of Mrs. Ida Perry (Ida (Steele) Perry), widow of Lige Perry ( Elijah Perry), has been probated in Tipton circuit court. The property is left to the two children, Bert B. Perry (Bertram B. "Bert" Perry) of Kokomo and Mrs. Dessie Legg of Windfall. The will was drawn April 3, 1930, but bears a codicil, dated Feb. 14, 1931, making certain changes in the bequest of three lots in Windfall, which the original will gave to the daughter. The codicil states they are to be the property of the son. The original will was witnessed by Dr. M. R. Gifford, of Tipton, and the codicil by M. M. McLaughlin, of Kokomo, and Attorney J. F. Pyke, of Tipton. Mrs. Perry's death occurred at Kokomo one week ago, her funeral being held at Windfall last Sunday." [10]
