Biography

Elizabeth Lanyon, daughter of James Lanyon & Ann, was baptised on 14 September 1805 in Breage, Cornwall, England.^[1]

1 Mar 1829 Married William Peters. She had been living in Germoe, he had been living in Breage and was a miner. They both marked, rather than signed their names. George William Wood and Joseph Tuckfield were the witnesses (1) Together they had 11 children:

1861 Aged 57, Elizabeth is a widow, working as a Charwoman with 4 children remaining at home: Eliza-24, Lavinia- 22, James-16 and Mary-12. Elizabeth

1 Jul 1865 Two of her daughters, Caroline and Elizabeth emigrate to Australia with their husbands and children.

1871 Aged 68, still working as a charwoman. She remains the head of the house,living at 21 Wendron St, Helston. Also living there is Eliza- 35 and Lavinia- 33 now married to Thomas Rowe and their 1 month old son, Edwin.

1881 Aged 76, working as a messenger. Head of the house at 54 Wendron St, Helston with Eliza-44 who is deaf and dumb, Lavinia-42 and Edwin- 10
