Vital Records show John Peters was born at Hebron, Connecticut. In Peters of New England, on page 154 it shows John Peters was born at North Brookfield, Massachusetts -- BUT on page 156 it states his birth, and his marriage, were recorded at both North Brookfield and at Hebron. Going by the state Vital Record, using Hebron, Connecticut
Marriage
Col. John Peters married twice. His first wife, Lydia, is the mother of all of his children. Col. Peters married second, Elizabeth Phelps, cousin to his first wife, and daughter of Jonathan Phelps. Col Peters was 67 and Elizabeth was 45 at the time of their marriage. There are no children from that marriage. [17]

John and Lydia had fifteen children (seven sons and eight daughters), acknowledged in a letter written by Col John, circa 1783, to his cousin William Peters.[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26]
