He married Margaretha Stonebarger in the Trinity Lutheran Church on 25 Mar 1852 in Osborn, Greene, Ohio, USA. (Osborn merged with Fairfield and became Fairborn, Clark, Ohio, USA)

He passed away on 12 Jan 1898 in Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois, USA.[6]
