Biography

Joseph Peters was born in Port Chester, NY.[1][2] He grew up in New Rochelle, NY.[3]. He is the son of Frederick Peters and Yvonne Higgins. [1]

He attended the University of Maine where he received a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Technology on June 12, 1955, and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi.[2]

Joe married his lovely wife Faith Marion Canty on June 18, 1955, in Orono, Maine.[4] [5]

He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin where he received his Master of Science in Dairy and Food Industries with a minor in Bacteriology in 1957. He completed his Ph.D. in 1959.[6]

After college, he worked for the Nestle Corporation for many years. First in Marysville, Ohio for a sub-division of Nestle's called WestReCo (Western Research Company) and later in White Plains, NY. While working in White Plains, Joe lived in Weston, CT, from 1975 to 2012 when he passed away.

He enjoyed being with his family, gardening, reading, cooking, eating and walking. Most of all he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed people.

He passed away on June 22, 2012, peacefully at his home.[7][8] He was buried at Oak Lawn Cemetary in Fairfield, CT, next to his wife. [9][10]
