Bio: William Peters was born in Barnwell, SC, in 1788. The family moved from Barnwell to Lowndes County, GA, in 1828. William married Rachel Bamberg and had 8 children. He and his wife are buried at Union Church where they were members, William being baptized there 12 Sept 1829
William was wounded in a skirmish with Indians in Lowndes County in July of 1836
