James Peters came to American between 1740-1749. He is said to have come from England by way of Ireland. After his arrival, he married Mary Bird in 1749. James drown in the Susquehanna River while trying to rescue a woman who fell over a flatboat in 1750. His son John was born after his father's death.[1]
