This profile was created with the only biographical information being the unsourced statement “Mary Peters ... She passed away in 1671.”

Research Notes

To date, there is no evidence that this woman existed. No marriage record of a Mary Peters to any Brownlow or Brownell has been found.

Despite questions surrounding her existence, she does appear in numerous unsourced online trees as the mother of Richard (Brownell) Brownlow (abt.1660-1722). Until such time as any evidence of her existence surfaces, she has been detached as his mother.

The estimated birth and death dates seem to be arbitrary. There was a Mary Brownlow who died in 1671, but she was the daughter of Vincent Brownlow of Hibaldstow, Lincolnshire.^[1] No other burial of a Mary Brownlow or Brownell in the correct time period has been found.
