Biography

James was born about 1744. He is the son of James Peters Sr and Mary Whitson. ^[1]

James married Winnifred Ashby, daughter of Robert R. Ashby, on 17 January 1764 at Fauquier, Colony of Virginia.^[2][3]

James married Betty Mauzy on 11 December 1786 at Fauquier County, Virginia.^[4]

• Note: The only image found for this union in of a marriage bond. It has the date 11 December without a year. This bond was among others filed in 1786, and therefore, was probably assumed to be 1786. See bond here.

James Peters wrote his will on 10 January 1819.^[5] The will was proved for probate on 24 May 1819.^[5]
