FWIW the birth information is incorrect. Slesvig-Holsten, Danmark was part of Denmark, not Germany. The reason many Danes fled was due to the failed Prussian / German attempt to capture Slesvig-Holsten in 1848 - 1852, which they later succeeded in accomplishing.
