Biography

Clifford James Petersen was born on Aug. 24, 1902, the youngest of 9 children born to James Petersen and Sena Christiansen. At the time of his birth, his parents lived on a farm 2 miles west of Litchville, North Dakota. In 1907, his parents purchased the farm owned by Anton Nelson, also in the Litchville area.[1][2]

His father died in 1908 when Clifford was just 6 years old.

Clifford attended the Litchville School from First grade until his graduation in 1920. He then moved to Long Beach, California in 1923 where he lived for two years before moving to Bristol, Pennsylvania where he was employed with the Pacific Steele Corporation for 30 years. He spent 20 of those years as the Superintendent of the Plant.

Clifford was active in Masonic Circles.

Due to a serious heart condition, Clifford was forced to retire and go to a warmer climate. He then moved to Fort Pierce, Florida.

Clifford died suddenly at the age of 68 years on Jan. 1, 1971 in Fort Pierce where he had lived for 11 years.[3] At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Ann, son Clifford James, Jr. and 3 grandchildren living in Naples, New York, also his brother, Guy of Palson, MT and two sisters, Josie Bruschwein of Marion, ND and Jeanette Nelson of Litchville, ND.
