A.J.F. van Laer makes a good point in that his name appears in records as "Cors" and that it wasn't necessarily short for Cornelis (see information added under the Name heading) and in fact, some of his descendants use the surname of "Corsen". Therefore I've changed his name to Cors with a nickname of Cornelis.

Peter is the Americanized or translation of the very common Dutch name Pieter, so I would stick by Pieter, come across many translated Pieters who actually were named Pieter and now were named Peter (Pieter van Stuyvesant for example ...)

The old way of writing is Langeraer ( aa those days was written as ae)

The spelling Langeraer came from the source referenced below on pg 254 so that's obviouisly where it came from.
According to pg 254 the name is written Cornelis Peterson (Vroom).
Corson-264 and Pietersen-47 appear to represent the same person because: LNAB decision was for Pietersen-47

Holly, they're the same person, but waiting for final NAB before merging.
Vroom-56 and Corrsen-1 do not represent the same person because: Pertinent data does not appear to match

See my posting on G2G re: discussion of his LNAB. It would more appropriately, per historical records, be Pietersen or Pieterse.
I've posted numerous sources on G2G in response to Stephen's Mix's question re: NAB to support the LNAB as Pieterse or Pietersen... Also his first name was Cornelis, not Cors.
