Andreas was the son of Peter Andersen and Berte Marie Amundsdatter at Braaten in Hole.[1]
Andreas left Braaten farm before 1874 and went to Vigsnes on Karmøy where he took work in the Vigsnes mines. He is registered as a laborer in the smelter in the Vigsnes copper mines at the time of the census in december 1875.[2] In the late 1880s he was 'oppsynsmann' in the mines. The Vigsnes mines was shut down 1 Dec 1894. It is likely that this was the time that Andreas and his family left for Mo i Rana. The Census of 1900 shows the family with 10 children living at Aanæs in Mo i Rana.[3] In 1910 six children are still in the household.[4]
Married on 2 Sep 1876 to Ranveig Karine Helgesdatter.[5] Children:
Andreas died of a heart attack on 24 Oct 1916 while visiting Kristiania (Oslo), according to the church protocols. The record also states that he was buried there, that he was a widower at the time, and still registered as resident at Aanes.[6]
A record for Andreas' move from Tyristrand to Vigsnes has not been found. He is recorded as a godfather of his sisters firstborn daughter Sofie Mathilde on 19 Oct 1873.
