Obituary: Peter Peterson. CLAIRE CITY -- Funeral services for Peter O. Peterson, 78, Claire City, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Lutheran Church at Claire City with the Rev. Arlo Eidsness officiating. Burial will be in the Nideros Cemetery northwest of Claire City. Mr. Peterson died Aug 15 in Racine, Wis., nursing home. Pallbearers will be Rodney, John and Gregory Dalberg, Dan and Dale Noble and Philip Peterson. The soloist will be Mrs. Sherman Halverson, accompanied by Mrs. Alvin Schram. Visitations will be in the Bader Funeral Home at Sisseton today (Tuesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church prior to the services. Mr. Peterson was born May 6, 1904, near Veblen to Mr. and Mrs. Anton Peterson. He attended rural school and graduated from Veblen High School. He married Julia Akre Nov. 9, 1923. The couple farmed near Claire City until retiring. Following Mrs. Peterson's death in 1980, he has been a resident of nursing homes at Sisseton and Racine. He served as a Roberts County commissioner and had been active in civic affairs. He is survived by three sons, Philip and Alston of Claire City and Jerry of Burlington, Wis.; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Jean) Dalberg of Claire City, Mrs. Willard (Delores) Johnson of Aspen, Colo., and Mrs. Richard (Delpha) Handson of Buffalo, Minn.; a brother, Olaf of Milwaukee, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Wickre of Veblen; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
