George W. Peterson, 72 years of of 229 Jackson avenue, died Thursday at Hackley hospital after an illness of one month. He was born in Ashland, Newaygo county, April 13, 1865. The greater part of his life was spent in Ashland, where he engaged in farming for 45 years.

The last 17 years he made his home in Muskegon coming here from Ashland. He was formerly in the employ of Continental Motors corporation for some time. On Feb. 10, 1892 he was married to Alice L. Lambson, at Newaygo.

Besides his widow, he leaves one son, Ivan Peterson of Muskegon; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Brott, of Grand Rapids, Mrs. W. J. Winters, of Muskegon; three grandchildren; one brother, Harry Peterson of Grand Rapids.
