Research Notes

Peterson is another spelling of Beidert the family’s name which eventually changed.

All children of this family should have Carr and Karr as LNAB/Other name so that duplicates will not be created. The name changes caused difficulties in the branches. The German spelling of KAR, KAAR, and KARR were soon and anglicized to CARR, and spelling Heinrich KAR became Henry CARR Palestine province of Germany, is on the French border, and the name of the family appears in France also where is spelled CAARE, it means broad shouldered.Spencer-24565

Family history says that Heinrich and Sara had nine sons. It seems the Hardy county folks wondered what it happened to Joseph and his brother Leonard, who went west so long ago, and interesting note the shucks and cars. The two families were together in Germany, possibly intermarried and married each other in the USA. Oral family history knows of at least four in the tree, and even up to today Mark, Loy and Sarah shook sit in the same fifth grade classroom in Freeburg, Illinois 264 years later. This was narrated by Sylvia Carr Hiles and passed down to Diane Spencer-Carr through her husband, Michael Carr.
