Orra was born in 1892 in Deadwood, South Dakota. She was brought up in South Dakota (high school in Sioux Falls), Kansas, Colorado (graduated high school in Durango), and New Mexico. She did graduate work at East High School in Denver and attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She taught school for a year in New Mexico. She married George Robertson in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1912. They lived in Durango, Ft. Apache, Arizona, and Ft. Morgan and Idaho Springs, Colorado. They had four children. After George's death in 1943 Orra lived in Idaho Springs and Denver (where she was famed as a fan of the Denver Nuggets). She was very active in women's clubs and, for the Colorado Federation of Women's Club's, was a moving force in the Platte River Greenway restoration. She died in Denver in 1981.
Their children were: George William Robertson born 26 January 1913 in Durango; married (1) Josephine Nevin, (2) Paula Tripp, (3) O'Quinn Thomson; he died 5 May 1983 in Sacramento County, California. Orra Margaret Robertson born 11 January 1916 in Durango; married Bruce Harris; she died 23 January 1995 in Idaho Springs. Florence Elizabeth Robertson born 12 December 1917, Ft. Apache; married Francis Smythe; she died 5 September 2007. (Jewell) Jeanne Robertson born 24 June 1922 in Denver; married Edwin Irwin Bruce; she died 4 April 2001 in Jefferson County, Colorado.
