At the age of 6, Samuel appeared with his father in the 1850 US Census in Yancy. Based on this, his birth year can be estimated to around 1844. ^[1]

Research Notes

Edited Samuel's birth year to 1844 based on 1850 census in order to resolve the error indicating that he was born within 9 months of his brother Moses. Claus-196 14:14, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
