Mary was born in 1794. She is the daughter of Oliver Pettibone and Martha Paine. She passed away in 1869.

Darius and Mary (Paine) Pettibone moved from the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania to Delaware, Ohio, in 1817. Later they moved to Prospect, Ohio, and in about 1830 to Bucyrus, Ohio. Mrs. Mary (Pettibone) Landon married, second, as his second wife, Elijah Adams, Sr., a native of the Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania. They had no children, but two of Elijah’s sons married two of Mary's daughters by her first marriage [J. S. Pettibone, ibid.]. [1]
