[3] I could find no DNA hits of F181787, M095120, M035002 confirmed with hits confirmed for the prior generation of John Pettus, Sr This is a concern! Thus, with the current Test takers on listed at the right on wikitree, I cannot confirm this step in the ancestry of these folks Greg (Veneklasen) V, Gina Pettus, Randy Whited, E. A. Whitsel, Samuel Pettus, Hunter Pettus, Anne Pettus, Bernadine Pettus, Dan Farnsworth, J. D. Whited, William Pettus listed at the right, or the others.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
So Susan Pettus [half], William Pettus Sr. [half] and John Pettus [half] are listed as half is because of their different fathers. There appear to be TWO John Dabney Pettuss on wiki tree. [Pettus-170] and [Pettus-63]. Both list Anne Overton as their wife. The reason these John Dabney's are different, is because they are credited with different fathers and different birthdates. [Pettus-63]'s father is listed as John Pettus [Pettus-318] and [Pettus-170]'s father is listed as Thomas Jr [Pettus 7]. Again, I'm using Willam Walker Pettus IV's Book on Thomas Petyous, as my reason for this tree split. I will say that Anne Overton looks might old to be married to [Pettus-170].
Sean Bonner (descended from Virginia Anne) has a moderate 5-8th autosomal hit with Regina Pettus (descended from John Pettus) on ancestry.com. To thoroughly compare, I'd need a GEDmatch kit number for Sean Bonner.
Do you have any objections, or does Karen Speedy or Albert Colbert have any objections? I'm not deleting anyone. Only add another source, and DNA stuff?
I'm not disagreeing with you. However, consider the DNA links above and the Pettus sources. I'm the Tom Pettus with the Y(111) listed above (Pettus-265). I intercept the William Walker Pettus (Pettus-324) with the Y(111) (who I know, and wrote a book on the Pettus') at son (John Pettus, Sr), directly below this Thomas. I also manage the DNA of those Pettus' listed in the DNA section.
1) I'd like to add his Willam's Book, which references to this Thomas Pettus, and which includes a lot of other sources in addition to DAR and SAR, etc, that you have listed. In Bill's Book, this Thomas Pettus is #139.
2) It's not clear to me why This Thomas's siblings Susan Pettus [half], William Pettus Sr. [half] and John Pettus [half] are listed as half.
3) Bill, Rob and I via our Y(111) at FTDNA intercept John Pettus and Anne Overton (directly above this Thomas Pettus via three other Pettus lines that have taken the Y(111).
4) Therefore, once I've connected the other lines to John Pettus and Anne Overton. I'd like to add a DNA section to the content page for this Thomas Pettus, If you follow the son John (Pettus-60) down to myself (Pettus-265), and to William Walker Pettus IV aka Bill and (Pettus-324)
That's a private ancestry tree....I'm not sure being private it should be a source
I'm confident of Mary Susan, and the relationship is sourced from a family bible. Brown-36819 appeared in records with the middle name of "W.", presumably standing for Walker, but the profile manager removed it for some reason. I have autosomal DNA matches back to Thomas Brown and Mary Susan Pettus, not sure if I've connected through Thomas Pettus and Amey Walker yet.
OK...I'm using Willam Walker Pettus IV book as my principal source.
I have the Children as
1) John b1736, m. Susannah Winston
2) Thomas b1741, m. Mary Henderson
3) Anne b1749, m. James Shelburne
4) Samuel Overton b1751, m. Hannah
I don't have these four: Mary Susan, William, David Walker, Rebecca. I have a confirmed Y(111) between three Pettus men, meeting two other Pettus at this point.
