Just want to note, there is some anecdotal evidence that suggests James Petty who died in 1806 in SC is the son of Thomas Petty. There is some given-name consistency. He had siblings named George and Martha as well as children named Thomas (after his father) George and Martha. He had a daughter named Catherine and a mother named Katherine. And we know he was very old when he died because adults described him as "our old grandfather, James Petty" in church records in 1806.
This profile lacks documentaton that this James is the son of the attached parents. It needs some type of primary or verifiable secondary source documentation of the date and place of birth as well as parents. The Edmund West index cited contains unverified user info.
