Thomas and Margaret Bernard were married in 1438(2) and had three known children: Thomas, Grace, Margaret.
(Though I have been unable to discover so far what happened to the daughters Grace and Margaret) - there were probably other children who died in infancy as this couple could have been married for close on 20 years. Thomas's second wife Margaret Francis was first married to Thomas Garneys and he didn't die until 1458 their marriage therefore must have been after this. Question did any of those other children survive and could they account for some of the offspring Peyton families?
Although I think of Thomas as 'of Isleham' due to the tomb and brass for his burial there, he probably didn't live there until after 1468, as his father-in-law Sir John Bernard was still alive and after the death of his first wife Elena Mallory he took a second wife on his death he left this wife Isleham for the term of her life so it was only after her death that Thomas could take up the inheritance of his first wife (who was herself dead by then). In earlier references he is given as 'of Wicken'.

Thomas has previously been shown on WikiTree as father of Rose Peyton, with the relationship marked uncertain, a warning in her biography that it was unverified, and a link to a discussion in soc.genealogy.medieval.[1] There appears to be no good evidence for the relationship, or what Rose's last name at birth was, and she has been detached.
