Phelps-258 and Phelps-77 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same name, birth, and death years, but Phelps-258 is assigned with the wrong parents and birth place. The only recognizable source attached, The Phelps Family of America, says he was the son of Samuel Phelps (bef.1621-1669).

The latest research of the New England Study Project at NEHGS does not include a son Ephraim in this family. Absent documentation, he should be detached from the family. https://www.americanancestors.org/DB501/i/60432/1/74387329 (subscription)
