Elizabeth married William Derry in 1862. He had a farm not far from her parents place in Scarborough. On the evening of November 19, 1872, Elizabeth's husband was hit by a train (the Grand Trunk railway mail train) while on his way home from Toronto, leaving her a widow with five young children.
She married Jesse Henry about 1875 and they moved to the Chatham area where her father owned land. Between her and Jesse they had fourteen children. And then they had one of their own! [1]
