I can find no record for William from the birth of his three girls in Scarborough in the early 1870's until his death in 1909, but it appears that his wife died young leaving him as a widower with three girls. As Tilmoth and Steward both remain in Scarborough, William must have been the second brother to accompany his brother Russell and sister Elizabeth to the farms his father purchased in Kent County.[1] Two of his girls remained in Scarborough and grew up at their grandparent's farm there.[2] I have been unable to locate the whereabouts of his third daughter, Margaret, before her 1896 marriage,[3] but the fact that she marries in Chatham suggests that she may have lived with her father.
On his death certificate, William is listed as a widower, a farmer, living on Concession 6, Lot 19, Dover Township. The next of kin which certified his death was Sidney Chapple, his brother Russell's son-in-law.[4]
