When Louise 'Paralee' Phillips was born on November 12, 1865, in Madison, Arkansas, her father, Reuben, was 24, and her mother, Melissa, was 23. She had at least seven children with William M Bowman. She then married W C Clegg on October 21, 1918; he died before 1920. She died on December 11, 1950, in Marble, Arkansas, at the age of 85, and was buried in her hometown.

Paralee Phillips Bowman, age 85, of Route 4, Huntsville, near Marble passed away at her home Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:45 a.m. She was born in Madison County Nov. 12, 1865, and was a lifelong resident here. She was a daughter of Reuben Phillips and Emmaline Dotson Phillips.
Her husband, William Bowman, died April 15, 1900. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors are three sons, James Bowman of Huntsville, Henry Bowman of Aurora, and John Bowman of Seneca, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Mandy Watson and Mrs. Annie Davis, both of Huntsville.
