Donald Ray Phillips of Clarkston died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, because of complications from pneumonia. He was 54.
Don was born June 16, 1960, to William and Norma (Berry) Phillips in Orofino. He graduated from Clarkston High School, attended Spokane Community College and worked at Key Tronic in Spokane. He sold manufactured homes for Clearwater Homes in Orofino and worked for Wasem's Drug for approximately 10 years. After leaving Wasem's in 2009, he began operating Transportation Solutions here in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley for Mr. and Mrs. Dalkey from Walla Walla. He married Toni Hill on Oct. 20, 2000, in Lewiston.
Don had a love for riding four-wheelers with his family, as well as a huge passion for watching his brother-in-law drag race, and was crew chief of his pit crew. He was a member of the LC Valley Ford Club and the Cougar Club, a proud member of the National Rifle Association and loved to golf.
He is survived by his loving wife, soulmate, and best friend, Toni; brother Bob (Donna) Phillips; sisters Audrey Phillips, Anna Phillips and Mary Phillips; daughter Renae (Justin) Phillips; stepson Jeremy Foss; stepdaughter Jamie (Dallas Fertitta) Thiriot; cousins Carl and Michelle Phillips; brother-in-law Mike (Jody) Hill; father-in-law Jimmy Hill; brothers-in-law Pat (Kris) Hill and Charlie (Sara) Hill; four grandchildren; best friends Tim and Barb Weza and Ed and Debbie Merkuris; his best "little" buddy, James Weza; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Loretta Hill; parents William and Norma Phillips; and stepmother-in-law Alice Gruell.
At Don's request, there will be no funeral or service.
